Mothers using nicotine gum to avoid smoking in pregnancy 'put unborn babies at risk

Great what another wonderful headline and research provided by "scientists", full of conjecture and guess work.

American researchers "suspect" that nicotine causes harmful chemicals to form in the babies’ blood vessels while they are still in the womb.

Dont get me wrong as someone who has stopped consuming nicotine via Mr Benson and Mr Hedges for 4 months via cold turkey I have no place for nicotine patches or gum and the whole nicotine replacement business is a scam and a pikey way of extracting more money from the desperate and the needy, however in this case what message does it send out?

Anyone apart from the scratters in their velour tracksuits agree that smoking whilst pregnant is abhorant, do what you want to yourself but your unborn?  Second to that most doctors seem to advise women to not give up as the stress could damage the baby and now this. So you cant smoke, cant give up and cant replace the nicotine?

Idiots, still cant beat this woman ...........
